“Prayer lifts the heart above the battles of life and gives it a glimpse of God’s resources which spell victory and hope.” - - C. Neil Strait
Prayer stands at the entrance to every divine act of deliverance and sometimes causes the need for deliverance. In the words of John Bunyan, “In prayer it is better to have a heart without words than words without a heart.”
Our Business: We are not store-rooms, but channels, We are not cisterns, but springs; Passing our benefits onward, Fitting our blessings with wings; Letting the water flow outward To spread o'er the desert forlorn; Sharing our bread with our brothers, Our comfort with those who mourn. -- Author Unknown Please pray for The Rodgers Family and other missionaries. Thanks Karen for your good service to the Bible study! Pray for Aline who has been experiencing numbness in her hands and limbs. Our church also asked for prayer. We encourage prayer daily for our nation, OUR PRESIDENT and other leaders, and our troops in the trenches during this difficult time.
Please remember our Mississippi Settlement descendants or spouses of descendants who are in the call-up for duty in the Middle East: Pray earnestly for the nation of Israel as the IDF is struggling to remove HAMAS elements from Gaza. Pray for the terrorists. Pray for our troops and for the nations struggling with new democracies. We praise God that the conflict in Iraq has all but deminished in recent days. The LORD has heard our prayers.
Indeed, let us remember all our troups at home and abroad during these uncertain days.
Family Members (including church family) in Need of Prayer Please pray for Karen's grandson. Karen worked in our Glen Bible study for several years and she and her husband attend the Church at the Red River across from the Lighthouse Church: Please pray for my grandson, Nathan. He just turned 21 and they’ve diagnosed him as having leukemia. He checks into Baylor in Dallas Tuesday. Please pass along to my friends at the Glen. Thanks, Karen
Progress was given this week and Nathan was able to come home for a month but chemotherapy will continue later. We are grateful!
Mary and her husband visit a friend or friends at The Glen and attend our Bible Study. We are pleased to learn that Mary's test was negative. Praise God! However, Dwight, her husband, has been struggling with his eyes recently. Remember Dwight in your prayers. Also, a family member, Sonny had surgery and we have been praying for him. He is progressing nicely, Thanks! to God! Please pray for our Glen Bible study. The move from the MPR to the auditorium has brought about a considerable loss of participants. We are grateful for 12 to 19 participants. We are extremely excited about our pianist, Ann, who is a blessing to our Bible study. She has encouraged us to go to the Villages for ministry as well. Pray for your pastor.. . Pray for the ladies' ministry - the WMU. They minister to many in our community including the Drug Rehab program at the Pines and the Prison. The ladies are so dedicated in our churches.
It’s always easy to complain
And say that government’s unfair,
But God’s Word says we should give thanks
And lift our leaders up in prayer. —HessGo to the Top
